Autocorrect

Is it just me, or the Autocorrect functions has helped in the decline of our ability to spell words correctly?. These days, I’m writing something and I can’t be bothered about the spelling cause I will cross check. Even sometimes, you don’t know the spelling to a particular word, you just type the closest to it and wait for Autocorrect suggestions. In an Age where everything is the cool-E (Electronic form), what would be the cons to relying on Autocorrect, because clearly I don’t see any reason to use the “Paper and Pen” method to pass information. However in terms of assessments, in which most of them computerized, I don’t see a fault. So even then, if it doesn’t help our spelling power, the pros are there.
